How to public space

2026

Graphic design: Studio Schmetterlink

How to Public Space, subtitled Manual for Artistic Research, is a practical and analytical textbook focused on the dramaturgy of public space. It offers methodological tools for reading, exploring, and interpreting public space through its social, cultural, and spatial dimensions.

The publication was developed within the international project UNLOCK THE CITY!, supported by the Creative Europe programme. The project connects performative art and academic research, investigating how these approaches can contribute to reimagining the city in a post-pandemic context.

Published in a bilingual Czech-English edition, the book is intended primarily for students and practitioners interested in a performative dialogue with public space.
